Description
RodStation offers a full range of chimney sweeping brushes suitable to use with either our 1/2? Whitworth flexible liner rods which are designed for flexible liner and insulated chimneys systems or our 3/4? Universal rigid chimney rods for masonry unlined chimneys. Our chimney brushes are hand made and available in soft and medium bristle suitable for flexible liners and stainless steel flue pipe and hard and extra hard for larger masonry flues. A protective ball end is fitted to the chimney brush with a 1/2? whitworth fitting only.
Choosing the correct chimney brush?
Our range of chimney brushes are sized to suit the flue they are cleaning, for example a 6? internal diameter pipe will require a 6? brush. When opting for the right brush we recommend using a soft bristle for the smaller diameter pipes and increasing the brush bristle strength as the brush becomes larger. For flexible liner 5? or 6? diameter with soft fluffy soot a soft brush is adequate, for heavy soot we recommend opting for a medium bristle.
Choosing the correct brush fitting?
If you are looking to use the brush to clean a flexible chimney liner, the ball top brush is designed to be used with a flexible liner rod and therefore a 1/2? Whitworth brush will be required.
If you have drain rods or rigid 3/4? Universal threaded rods you will require a 3/4? thread. Rigid rods are only suited for masonry or concrete chimneys as they can cause damage to chimney liners. More fitting such as lockfast, M10 and push button systems are available, please call us on 01446 500695 to discuss your requirements.
